Woman taken into custody in connection with Union City murder and robbery

Union City, California – Union City police announced on Friday that they had arrested a 30-year-old homeless woman in connection with the shooting death of a local resident.

After being detained by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, Stephanie Ledon was later arrested by the Union City police department for her part in the murder of Union City resident Karim Zepeda Martinez, who was 43 years old.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office said on Friday that Ledon would be charged with murder as well as robbery.

On April 9, in the early hours, police were called to the area of Eric Court and Kenita Way in response to a call that gunshots had been fired. As soon as the officers arrived, they discovered a single victim who had been shot. Even though paramedics came and tried to save Karim’s life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
