Registered sex offender from Concord faces multiple charges after trying to lure two minor girls into his vehicle
Concord, California – Following the arrest of a man from Concord back in July, investigators from the Walnut Creek Police Department submitted their findings to the District Attorney’s Office on Friday.
Miguel Schiappapietra, age 37, is now being held in custody on bail of $1,370,000.
On July 3rd, 2022, a man approached two middle school-aged girls as they were standing in the parking lot of the Target store located at the intersection of North Main Street and Ygnacio Valley Blvd.
The man arrived at their site in a silver Mazda four-door vehicle and made an effort to lure the girls to get into his car with him. The man said that he needed their assistance in searching for his missing dog. But his attempts were fortunately unsuccessful since the girl refused to get into his vehicle and managed to leave the scene unharmed.
After a thorough investigation, Schiappapietra, a registered sex offender, was determined to be the suspect in this case and was arrested.
He is facing multiple charges, including two counts of annoying or molesting a child, two counts of contacting a minor to commit a felony, and two counts of attempting to commit a lewd or lascivious act on a minor.
