Police investigating a triple shooting that claimed the life of an Oakland man and injured two females
Oakland, California – One person was killed and two others were wounded as a result of a shooting incident that occurred overnight in downtown Oakland.
The shooting took place on 19th Street between Broadway and Telegraph Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. Officers from the Oakland Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 reports regarding a gunshot that occurred in the 450 block of 19th Street.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found three people suffering from gunshot injuries. Emergency crews were summoned and despite providing treatment to the victims, one of them, an Oakland man, succumbed to his injuries.
The remaining two victims were transported to the hospital. Hospital officials said the victims were in stable condition. The only thing known about them is that they are both women, and one of them lives in San Leandro and the other in Tracy.
The identity of the man who died will be revealed once his family is notified.
