Santa Clara County, California – Before the holidays, health officials in Santa Clara County are asking all eligible people to obtain a COVID-19 booster shot.
The decision follows the lifting of federal restrictions on Pfizer and Moderna booster doses for persons over 65, those with health concerns, and those who work in high-risk jobs.
County health officials want to make sure that everyone learns that the booster shot is now available to everyone over the age of 65 and those who are at risk.
It takes one to two weeks for a person to have full protection after receiving a booster injection, which is why health experts urge on being fully vaccinated during holiday travel and gatherings.
Doctors say it is beneficial for people to get the booster shot.
