Throughout his career as a businessman and politician, Trump has been no stranger to controversy. In fact, one could argue that he has made it his trademark. The breadth of his controversies is truly huge, ranging from allegations of mafia ties to unscrupulous business dealings, and from racial discrimination to alleged marital ra-e.
But even with all the problems he has had, he is the leader in the Republican primary for president in 2024.
Mary Trump, the ex-president’s estranged niece, made a bold and potentially controversial prediction in her most recent podcast. With the United States still reeling from the fallout of the 2020 presidential election and the subsequent storming of the Capitol, Mary Trump’s prediction of what may occur should her uncle fail to win a presidential bid once again in 2024 adds yet another layer of intrigue to the already high-stakes political landscape.
“Voter subversion is apparently a new phenomenon and it’s apparently convincing people that the election was stolen from them, that the election results were illegitimate,” she said.
“I am sure Donald is already telling people that if he loses in 2024, which he will, that it was stolen from them again and he’ll call for another insurrection,” she added.
In a recent interview with The Sydney Herald, Mary Trump, the estranged niece of former President Donald Trump, shared her candid thoughts on her controversial uncle and his manipulative tactics.
Mary Trump spoke about the family’s long-standing perception of Donald Trump, stating that they all believed him to be an unscrupulous individual. Despite their intimate knowledge of his character, they were surprised to see that so many others were willing to be fooled by his tactics.
“We all thought he was an a**hole,” she said. “We knew him so well, it never occurred to us anybody could possibly be fooled by him.”
One of his most unsettling abilities, Mary Trump noted, was his uncanny talent for manipulating people. Donald Trump could identify the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of others and use them to his advantage, often leading to their downfall. This ability was compounded by his undeniable charisma, which enabled him to sway others to his cause with ease.
“He’s also very good at using other people’s weaknesses against them. He can spot people’s vulnerabilities and either co-opt them or, as we’ve seen time, after time, after time, destroy them. And we can’t discount–I actually hate using this word–but he’s got charisma.”
Regarding the former president’s aspirations for a 2024 presidential run, Mary Trump had some pointed insights. While many believe that he seeks to “make America great again,” she posited that his motivations were less noble. According to her, he craves the power and influence that comes with the presidency and views it as a means of avoiding potential criminal charges and a prison sentence.
Currently, Donald Trump is the subject of two federal investigations being overseen by special counsel Jack Smith at the DOJ. The first inquiry centers around allegations that he mishandled government records, including classified documents. The second investigation pertains to his role in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which has shaken the nation to its core.
