Concord police investigating vehicle theft at gunpoint

Concord, California – Concord police are investigating the theft of a vehicle that was stolen at gunpoint by a carjacker early Thursday morning.

A black man in his 20s approached the owner of the vehicle around 10:40 on Thursday, pointing a gun at him and demanding he leave his car.

Police said the stolen vehicle was a silver Kia Soul with a license plate that starts with “7RBT.” The last time the vehicle was seen was turning right onto Clayton Rd. from the Clayton Gardens apartments parking lot, which is located just east of Cape Cod Way.

The owner of the vehicle remained uninjured.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Concord Police Department.
