Concord man arrested for possession of child pornography additionally charged in connection with 2015 sexual abuse case
Concord, California – A man from Concord has been charged in connection with a child pornography investigation after authorities searched his cell phone.
The 50-year-old, Patrick S. Yelton, is now in custody and charged with possession of child pornography and sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13.
Authorities say that the alleged sexual abuse took place seven years ago, but prosecutors didn’t want to file charges against Yelton at that time because there wasn’t enough evidence.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force got a tip about suspicious behavior on Yelton’s Google account, which led to the filing of the current charges on top of a previous child sexual abuse case.
Authorities charged Yelton with molestation after they found child pornography on his cell phone in February 2021 and found evidence that linked him to a child sexual abuse case from 2015.
Yelton was arrested this week and is now being held behind bars on $50,000 bail.
