Cal State East Bay graduates to be recognized for the first time after two years

Concord, California – Twenty ceremonies will be held on the Hayward campus from May 12–15 to recognize Cal State East Bay graduates (including Concord Campus students) from the years 2020–2022.

Cathy Sandeen, president of Cal State East Bay, remarked, “Everyone who has heard about this year’s multiple ceremonies is thrilled that we can recognize our graduates in these cohort-focused events. These students have persevered through the last two years of their coursework with tenacity and innovation, and we are privileged to be able to celebrate this milestone with them, their families and friends.”

The organizers consulted with students, deans, and department heads to choose the best way to celebrate this year’s more than 5000 graduates, who had been struggling with the pandemic for the previous two years. Each of the ceremonies will welcome between 35 and 500 graduates. Some celebrations will be divided between graduate programs and undergraduate programs, while other universities will celebrate specific departments.
