BART passengers will no longer be required to wear masks starting Monday
San Francisco, California – Even though the number of new COVID-19 cases across the state is going up, people who ride the Bay Area Rapid Transit won’t have to wear face masks starting Monday.
This is the second time in the last three months that BART has removed its mask requirements.
If the COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Bay Area Rapid Transit officials have indicated that they may reinstate the mask requirement again.
In April, all rules from the federal government, states, and local governments mandating people taking public transportation to wear face masks were removed.
