Tuesday afternoon multi-vehicle crash results with 2 people hospitalized, police
Pacifica, CA – Two people were hospitalized for treatment following the Tuesday afternoon multi-vehicle crash in Pacifica, local police confirmed.
According to the incident report, the crash took place at Rockaway Beach Avenue and Highway 1 around 2:30 p.m. The crash was described as a “large scale traffic collision.”
The initial announcement by the authorities was corrected later saying that the actual time of the crash is 2:15 p.m.
Footage of the crash showed a box truck that was in the middle of a multi-vehicle collision involving four other cars just off of Highway 1 on Rockaway Beach Avenue. One of the vehicles appeared to have been engulfed in flames, but had been put out.
The first responders confirmed that two people were transferred to hospital for additional treatment with serious injuries.
The first person suffered serious injuries and was in critical condition when transferred to hospital, while the second victim that was transferred to hospital with serious injuries was in stable condition right after the accident.
While the investigators were at the scene, the traffic in the area was slowed down.
