Several delays reported after a train hit pedestrian

Mountain View, California – A pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a train on Monday morning at the Rengstorff Avenue crossing, according to Mountain View Police. The identity of the pedestrian was not released.

The Mountain View Police Department notified the public about the accident through their Twitter account at 11:13 a.m.

No additional information was released by the Mountain View police, but the tweet said that the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office will be in charge of the upcoming investigation into the incident.

A southbound train was being held outside the San Antonio Station, and there were also more delays reported due to police activity after a report of a trespasser on the tracks, according to the Caltrain Alerts Twitter account.
