Pedestrian in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in San Francisco
San Francisco, California – According to the San Francisco police, a pedestrian who was hit by a car on Friday evening sustained injuries that are considered to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department said that at about 8:12 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Van Ness Avenue and McAllister Street in the Civic Center neighborhood.
The adult man who was hit was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the car, according to the police, stayed at the site of the accident and is cooperating with the investigation.
According to the police, driving under the influence is not considered to have played a role in the crash.
After the accident, the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management sent out an alert advising drivers to find alternate routes and avoid the area.
