Part of I-880 in Oakland closed for traffic due to shooting, ongoing investigation

Oakland, California – Freeway shooting closed I-880 northbound in Oakland for traffic Saturday afternoon, authorities confirmed.

According to the California Highway Patrol Oakland Division, the shooting inclined took place around 3 p.m.

Crews with the California Highway Patrol are already on the scene investigating the shooting.

CHP has closed all lanes of the freeway in the northbound direction as a result of the investigation.

Authorities didn’t provide information regarding injured people in the incident at this point.
