Man arrested following an attack of an elderly man

Petaluma, California – A man has been arrested in connection to the attack of a 67-year-old man in Petaluma.

According to the Petaluma Police Department, Jason Etheridge, 52, was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and elder abuse.

Officers responded to an assault complaint at an underpass on U.S. Highway 101 near Lakeville Highway around 8:11 p.m. on Thursday.

Responding officers located a 67-year-old victim who said he had been hit over the head with a blunt object during a verbal altercation.

Police said the victim identified Etheridge as the person who hit him.

Etheridge was taken into custody without incident.
