Investigation underway after one fatally shot, one injured in San Francisco

San Francisco, California – A San Francisco shooting incident that left one woman dead and one man injured over the weekend is now being investigated by police, according to authorities.

San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 100 block of Dakota Street shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday morning after receiving reports of a shooting. Two shooting victims were found by responding officers: a 40-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man.

Officers responded quickly and called medics, who transferred both patients to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of emergency responders and hospital personnel, the female victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police. The male victim was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The SFPD Homicide Detail is now in charge of the investigation. There have been no arrests and no information regarding potential suspects has been released by the authorities.
