Homeless man charged with murder for fatally shooting a man in Concord

Martinez, California – A homeless man from Concord is charged with murder and deliberately discharging a handgun in connection with the incident where a Walnut Creek resident was killed.

In the May 5th shooting in Concord, the 25-year-old Shafi Kevin Qasimi was fatally shot in the head by Guadalupe Jose Robles, a 29-year-old homeless man who was camping in a creek area near Diamond Boulevard and Willow Pass Road at the time of the incident.

Robles was taken into custody at the Martinez Detention Facility.

Qasimi was fatally shot once in the head by Robles following an altercation between them both. The perpetrator then, with the assistance of a few friends, used a stolen vehicle in an attempt to hide the body. They dumped Qasimi’s body in the Grizzly Peak Area in Oakland, where it was found by the Oakland police a week later.

Robles appeared in court for the first time on the charges against him on Wednesday in Martinez.
