Disabled train caused major delays on the Antioch line Friday

Pleasant Hill, California – According to transit officials, the Antioch line of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system was experiencing substantial delays due to a malfunctioning BART train that had been stuck between the Pleasant Hill and Concord stations.

BART announced on their Twitter account around 12:15 p.m. about an equipment failure on the rails between the two East Bay stations.

The Antioch line was experiencing major delays in both directions due to a disabled train that had been stuck between the two stations for 15 minutes.

BART authorities said just before 1 p.m. that the system was recovering from the issues created by the disabled train, but that there were still delays on the Antioch line.
