Woman gives birth to a baby by c-section; doctors left in shock after seeing the newborn, they haven’t seen anything like it in 27 years

In the United States, a mother gave birth to a baby boy who weighed more than twice the average weight of a newborn. To put it into perspective, the baby weighed a staggering 14 pounds.

The delivery was sudden and unexpected, as the woman’s water broke during a routine check-up with her husband. This prompted doctors to take immediate action, performing a C-section to ensure the safety of the mother and child. Upon seeing the newborn, the medical team was taken aback by his sheer size, as the average newborn weighs between 5-8 pounds.

The incredible weight of the baby meant that the clothing that had been prepared for him was too small, prompting the family to bring clothing meant for babies who are six months old. This serves as a testament to just how exceptional this birth truly was.

“Finnley was a little celebrity at the hospital. Nurses and doctors were non-stop talking about him,” his mother, Cary, said.

“As soon as they pulled him out, they were like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s huge!’ Everybody was freaking out, like, ‘I’ve never seen a baby that big, I can’t believe it.’ So perfect and round in every way. He’s definitely my squishy little honey bear.”

The family had to go out right away and buy bigger clothes for their new baby, and they also had to order size two diapers because the hospital only had size one.

Finnley and his two older siblings were all delivered by the same doctor. He is said to be the biggest baby the doctor has delivered in 27 years.

“They were born at 8  and 11 pounds, but Finnley took the lead,” Cary said.

But the mother says she would do it all over again to receive her “blessing.”

After suffering from 19 miscarriages as a result of blood clotting disorders and fibroids, it was hard for the mom to leave Finnley in the NICU for eight days, but the family is now happily reunited at home.

“He is worth every ounce of pain, blood, and tears shed,” said Cary, “He is such a good, sweet baby. I am so grateful everything ended on such a great positive side.”
